BIOTESTLAB, the leader in the veterinary drugs market, has become the official partner of the All-Ukrainian Forum "Infectious Diseases of Dogs and Cats". The event, which took place in Kyiv on 3 November this year, brought together 70 veterinarians from different regions of the country. The forum was organized by the Ukrainian School of Veterinary Medicine (USVM).
The main topic of the forum was an in-depth examination of clinical cases related to the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases in dogs and cats, such as leptospirosis, trichomoniasis, feline infectious peritonitis (FIP), ehrlichiosis and anaplasmosis. The event was led by veterinary medicine doctors and infectious disease specialists Nazar Gavrishchuk (veterinary clinic 'Family Pet', Kyiv), Ivan Simoshin (veterinary clinic 'Phoenix', Kyiv), and veterinary diagnostician Olga Stepanenko (veterinary hospital 'GENESIS').
The role of infectious agents in canine reproductive medicine was the topic of a special session, the speaker of which was Anna Kondratieva, veterinary reproductive specialist ('GENESIS', Kyiv). Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Tina Wassing (Germany) presented new strategies for treating GI diseases in dogs and cats.
The BIOTESTLAB company, as a manufacturer of veterinary drugs, presented a line of antimicrobial agents, including eye and ear drops, injectable and oral antibiotics, wound healing and anti-inflammatory spray.
The focus is on Ciprocolin, an oral antibiotic for systemic use, a combination of ciprofloxacin 10% and colistin 1M IU. The drug has no analogues in Ukraine, is characterized by a wide spectrum of bactericidal action and high effectiveness in treating infectious diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, respiratory system, genitourinary system, joints, skin, etc. It is available in powder form for the preparation of oral solution. Ciprocolin is given with a dosing syringe (included with the drug) once a day for a course of at least 5 days. Due to its meaty taste and aroma, it is well-received by animals.
Today, BIOTESTLAB's product portfolio includes almost 130 types of veterinary immunobiological and chemical-pharmaceutical products. More than 15 of them are for pets. Drugs for the treatment of dogs and cats are exported to Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, etc. In general, BIOTESTLAB products are presented in 21 countries around the world.
This is BIOTESTLAB's second collaboration with USVM this year. Let us recall that in September the Company and the Relax brand acted as partners at the forum on the anesthesiology of companion animal.
USVM was created in 2023 with the assistance of the Ukrainian Small Animal Veterinary Association (USAVA). The school's mission is to provide high-quality postgraduate education to practising veterinarians and promote the professional development of students of specialized universities. USVM partners include the Federation of European Companion Animal Veterinary Associations (FECAVA) and the Ukrainian Veterinary Medicine Foundation.
