The Ukrainian animal health company BIOTESTLAB is expanding its international presence by entering the East African market in Kenya. The company has made the first delivery of poultry vaccines in the POLIMUN line and is preparing for the official product presentation at the specialised exhibition, Agro & Poultry Africa 2026.
Entering a new market was an important stage in implementing BIOTESTLAB's export strategy and a continuation of the company's systematic efforts to expand its presence in Sub-Saharan Africa. After Cameroon and Nigeria, Kenya became the third country in the region where the company completed registration and began supplying vaccines.
9 POLIMUN vaccines for poultry
At the first stage, 9 POLIMUN vaccines for poultry were registered in Kenya. The vaccines are intended for the prevention of current infectious diseases of poultry, in particular:
- Infectious bursal disease / Gumboro disease;
- Avian infectious bronchitis;
- Newcastle disease;
- Fowlpox.
Registration of POLIMUN vaccines in Kenya was carried out by the Kenyan regulatory partner, EVKA CONSULTZ, with assistance from the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Kenya. This opens up access for local manufacturers to modern preventive solutions developed and manufactured in accordance with international requirements for quality, safety and effectiveness.
Partnership with a local distributor
The distributor of BIOTESTLAB products in Kenya is TWIGA CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES. Cooperation with a reliable local partner will ensure the effective launch of POLIMUN vaccines on the market, professional communication with customers, and further development of the product portfolio in the country.
“Kenya is one of the key markets in East Africa with a developed agricultural sector and significant potential for the development of poultry farming. At the same time, it is an important regional hub for further expansion of the company’s presence in East Africa. The completion of the registration of 9 POLIMUN vaccines is the result of many years of work by the team, interactions with regulatory authorities, and with a local partner. It is important for us not only to enter a new market, but also to build a long-term presence based on product quality, professional support and customer trust,” says Andrii Mazan, Export Sales Development Manager of BIOTESTLAB.
Product presentation at the exhibition in Kenya
You can learn more about POLIMUN vaccines during the Agro & Poultry Africa 2026 industry exhibition, held on August 20–22 in Nairobi, Kenya, at the Sarit Expo Centre. BIOTESTLAB’s booth is AB03.
Participation in the exhibition will be an important platform for communicating with a professional audience, presenting BIOTESTLAB's scientific and production expertise, and creating further opportunities for development in the Kenyan market and neighbouring countries.
"Entering key African markets is one of the priority areas of the company's international development. We are already represented in the region's largest strategic markets — Egypt and Nigeria — which confirms the competitiveness of Ukrainian veterinary biopharmaceutical solutions. We see significant demand for quality vaccines in other regional markets and are ready to develop long-term partnerships that will contribute to increasing the biosafety and efficiency of poultry and livestock farming," comments Oleksandr Tkachuk, Director of the International Sales Department of BIOTESTLAB.
Africa as a strategic direction of international development
Expanding our presence in Kenya is part of BIOTESTLAB's export strategy. Today, the company's products are represented in more than 25 countries worldwide, including the MENA region, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Central and Southeast Asia. The company is also considering the potential to scale the supply geography in Latin America.
BIOTESTLAB consistently invests in international product registration, the development of a partner network, and the adaptation of the portfolio to the needs of local markets. The company's special focus is preventive solutions for poultry and livestock farming, which help producers control infectious risks, maintain livestock health and increase production efficiency.
The opening of the Kenyan market confirms BIOTESTLAB's strategic focus on global growth, the development of long-term partnerships, and the strengthening of the role of Ukrainian veterinary biopharmaceuticals in the international market.
