The biopharmaceutical veterinary company BIOTESTLAB made the first shipment of POLIMUN poultry vaccines to a new market — Nigeria. This marks an important step in implementing a long-term strategy to strengthen its position in promising markets in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Nigeria has one of the most dynamic agro-industrial sectors in the region, with a highly developed poultry industry. According to the local Poultry Association of Nigeria (PAN), the country produces about 450,000 tons of chicken meat and almost 16 billion eggs annually. Nigeria ranks second in Africa in poultry population after Egypt.

Market entry followed the signing of a distribution agreement with Confidence Pharmaceutical and the successful registration of the trademark and products.

“At the initial stage, we are exporting five vaccines for poultry — for the prevention of Gumboro disease, Newcastle disease, Avian infectious bronchitis, Salmonellosis, and Egg drop syndrome. The products have successfully passed the state registration procedure, confirming compliance with international quality, safety, and effectiveness standards. We plan to further expand the poultry vaccine portfolio and assess opportunities in the rabbit vaccine segment,” says Andrii Mazan, Export Sales Development Manager of BIOTESTLAB.

“We are systematically expanding the company’s international presence. Today, products are exported to more than 20 countries. Distribution negotiations are underway in more than 30 countries. We are currently represented in the markets of the Middle East and North Africa, Central and Southeast Asia. Our further development efforts are focused on Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America,” notes Oleksandr Tkachuk, Director of the International Sales Department of BIOTESTLAB.
