The Ukrainian veterinary biopharmaceutical company BIOTESTLAB successfully passed inspections by the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) of Kenya and the National Drug Authority (NDA) of Uganda and received certificates of compliance with the requirements of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
The inspections covered the company's production facilities in Ukraine. Particular attention was paid to the assessment of aseptic conditions for the production of immunobiological drugs, as well as the quality control system. The results of the inspections confirmed that the production complies with GMP requirements.
The strategic role of East African markets
Kenya and Uganda are important markets in East Africa for the development of poultry farming. The development of the industry, intensification of production, and increased biosafety requirements form a stable demand for effective and affordable veterinary solutions.
For BIOTESTLAB, these markets are part of a long-term international development strategy focused on expanding vaccine exports and building a local presence.
Registration of POLIMUN vaccines in Kenya
The company also received registration certificates for the POLIMUN poultry vaccines in Kenya. The portfolio includes 9 vaccines for the prevention of key viral diseases of poultry, in particular, Gumboro disease, Newcastle disease, Avian infectious bronchitis, and Fowl pox.
Product registration lays the groundwork for an active commercial presence in the market and for developing a partner network in the region.
Strengthening the export strategy
Obtaining GMP certification in Kenya and Uganda is an important step in implementing an export strategy focused on markets in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
"GMP certification in Kenya and Uganda confirms the compliance of our production processes with international requirements and opens up new opportunities for export development. This is an important step in strengthening the company's position in the African markets," the company notes.
