Composition

1 ml of preparation contains active substance Enrofloxacin – 100 mg; Additional ingredients.

Pharmacological properties

Enrofloxacin is a chemotherapeutic preparation belonging to the group of fluoroquinolones (derivative quinolone-carboxylic acid). Enrofloxacin shows anti obial acti by inhibiti the enzyme acti of DNA gyrase, which is a major catalyst for the replicati of DNA in a bacterial cell. Inhibiti of DNA gyrase acti leads to functi disorders, blocking the biosynthesis in the cell and destructi of the pathogen. The result is a rapid bactericidal effect. Enrofloxacin is effecti e against different types of microorganisms: Mycoplasma spp., E. coli, Salmonella spp., Campylobacter spp., Haemophilus spp., Pasteurella spp., Bordetella spp., Klebsiella spp., Streptococcus spp., Enterococcus spp., Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Proteus spp., Vibrio parahaemolyti Staphylococcus aureus.

Administration

Treatment of cattle, sheep, goats, and pigs for respiratory and digestive tract diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to enrofloxacin. 

Routes of administration and dosages 

Cattle, sheep, goats – subcutaneously at a dose of 0.5 ml of the drug per 10 kg of body weight (5 mg per 1 kg of body weight) once a day.

Pigs – intramuscularly at a dose of 0.25 ml of the drug per 10 kg of body weight (2.5 mg per 1 kg of body weight) once a day. 

For the treatment of frequent respiratory infections and salmonellosis, the dose is doubled, i.e., to 0.5 ml of the drug per 10 kg of body weight once a day. 

The duration of treatment is 3 days, in cases of salmonellosis – 5 days. 

If the dose exceeds 5 ml for cattle, sheep, and goats, and 2.5 ml for lambs, kids, and pigs, it must be divided and administered in different areas.

Withdrawal period

Slaughter of animals for meat is permitted 12 days (cattle), 10 days (sheep, goats), 13 days (pigs) after the last application of the drug.

Milk consumption is permitted 4 days (cattle) and 6 days (sheep, goats) after the last application of the drug.

Meat and milk obtained before the specified period shall be disposed of or fed to non-productive animals, depending on the conclusion of a veterinary doctor.

Self life

24 months. After first opening – 28 days if kept in dark place at +5 to +25° С.

Store in dry, dark places, out of the reach of children, at +5 to +25° С.
