Last week, the Ukrainian manufacturer of veterinary drugs BIOTESTLAB became a partner of the International Practical Forum PIGS FARMING INDUSTRY 2024. Representatives of almost 100 pig farms attended or connected to the online broadcast of the two-day event in Lviv. Organizer: magazine "Ukrainian Farmer".
During the forum, a presentation of a new product, the systemic antimicrobial agent Tulaxan (injection solution with the active ingredient tulathromycin 10%) took place. Developed in the 21st century, the semi-synthetic antibiotic from the macrolide group is highly effective against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms that cause respiratory diseases in pigs and cattle, keratoconjunctivitis in cattle and infectious pododermatitis in sheep. Due to its prolonged action, the course of treatment consists of only one injection. Tulaxan can be used in piglets and calves from the first days of life for the treatment of respiratory diseases and metaphylaxis. The new product is officially registered in Ukraine.
The forum participants had the opportunity to learn about the experience of using the vaccine Suimun Parvo Ery Inac for pigs against parvovirus infection and swine erysipelas, as well as the disinfectant Virosan Max. The disinfectant based on a combination of glutaraldehyde and QAC is the only one in Ukraine with proven effectiveness against ASF in conditions as close as possible to field conditions.
Representatives of Minitube (Germany)* spoke at the forum, focusing on the new boar semen extenders of the Star series: Androstar Plus and Androstar Premium. As Minitube Sales Director Victoria Williams emphasized during the online presentation, the series was developed considering the requirements of pig breeders for long-term storage of boar semen doses under conditions of temperature fluctuations and physical stress. The extenders are based on a highly effective pH-buffer system, protective antioxidants, and sperm-compatible antibacterial agents, that preserve the fertilizing capacity of semen doses during long-term storage in temperature ranges of 10..25°C (Androstar Plus) or 5..25°C (Androstar Premium). The effectiveness of Androstar extenders has been confirmed by numerous studies and experience of use in Europe and the USA.
Androstar Plus and Androstar Premium are available for order in Ukraine, as well as another new product, Novistar, for operation in the temperature range of 15..25°C.
