Ukrainian manufacturer of veterinary drugs BIOTESTLAB has entered the Cameroonian market. This country became the first to implement the company's updated international sales strategy which aims to expand into Sub-Saharan Africa's markets.

"Poultry farming is an important agriculture sector in many African countries, and plays an important role in ensuring food security and employment of the population, – noted Serhii Semenov, Sales Director of BIOTESTLAB LLC. – Cameroon's poultry industry has shown growth trends in recent decades. This country is one of the few in Africa that has imposed restrictions on the import of frozen chicken products, instead implementing government programs to support local poultry producers. Therefore, despite the economic challenges in the country, we see significant demand for high-quality veterinary products".

At the first stage, the company will focus on supplying POLIMUN brand vaccines: local farmers already have access to a wide range of products for the prevention of Gumboro disease (Polimun IBD, Polimun IBD+), Newcastle disease (Polimun La-Sota), infectious bronchitis of chickens (Polimun IB H120), the combined vaccine Polimun La-Sota+H120, as well as a product for preparing water and monitoring the vaccination process, Indigo Max.

“Last year, we signed an agreement with the local distributor SODIPROVET SARL, which has experience working with veterinary drugs, and has branches in the country, received permits, worked out logistics, and were able to begin deliveries, – adds Serhii Semenov. – The Cameroon market is highly competitive and offers products from both global and local manufacturers. Among the strengths of BIOTESTLAB is the optimal price-quality ratio, which is not inferior to European competitors, as well as a wide range of live and inactivated vaccines, including polyvalent vaccines. Overall, this allows us to offer effective and affordable programs to prevent major poultry diseases in the meat and egg poultry farming for the industrial and private sectors”.

Course to Africa
Expansion into Sub-Saharan Africa is part of BIOTESTLAB’s updated international sales strategy, which includes expanding supply geography, developing distribution, and increasing brand awareness. We focus on Senegal, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, and South African countries.

Let us recall that last year the company presented its products at major agro-industrial exhibitions Africa Agri Expo 2024 in Kenya and VIV Africa 2024 in Rwanda, held negotiations on cooperation with the Botswana Vaccine Institute, and also began registering veterinary drugs in several countries in the region.
