Virus of Infectious Bursal Disease, strain MV/20 ≥ 102 EID50.
Pharmaceutical form
Freeze-dried tablet.
Immunological properties
Vaccine virus in 1-2 weeks induces specific immunity in vaccinated birds against Infectious Bursal Disease.
Target species
Chickens.
Indications
Preventive immunization of healthy chickens starting from the first day of age against Infectious Bursal Disease.
Interaction with other preparations
Administration simultaneously with other live vaccines is not recommended.
Special precautions (during laying period)
The vaccine does not influence egg laying, fertility or egg incubation.
Route of administration and dosage
Dosage – 1 dose per bird.
The vaccine is administered by drinking water. One day before vaccination, determine the amount of water in liters that a bird drinks within 2 hours. On the day of vaccination, dissolve the contents of the vaccine vials in drinking water at room temperature. The vaccine is diluted so that the amount of water determined the day before vaccination contains one dose of vaccine per bird. It is advisable to carry out vaccination in the morning. Depending on the humidity and air temperature, the water supply for broilers should be shut off for 0.5–3 hours and for laying birds for 1–4 hours. The water used for administering the vaccine should not contain chlorine or iron ions, antibiotics, or disinfectants. Waterers should be thoroughly washed before vaccination without the addition of disinfectant solutions. For better vaccination results, it is recommended to use the INDIGO dye indicator or other similar products.
The timing and number of vaccinations depend on the level of maternal antibodies, the type of chicks, and the method of vaccination of the parent stock. To determine the optimal vaccination period, a veterinarian should take blood samples from 18-20 chicks aged 1-4 days and send them to a specialized laboratory for testing the level of maternal protective antibodies using the ELISA method.
Chicks are vaccinated and, if necessary, revaccinated, taking into account the results of serological tests.
Note
The vaccine is of tissue-origin, so when it is dissolved in the vial, small tissue residues from homogenized tissues of the embryos can be observed.
Withdrawal period
0 days.
Self life
18 months. Vaccine should be used within 2 hours after dissolving.
Storage conditions
Store vaccine in dry, dark places, out of the reach of children, at +2 to +8° С.
