KETOBALANCE

A clear, light pink solution.
Dietary feed for dairy cows and sheep.
Composition
Propylene glycol 99.7% (991 ml/l)
Feed additives:
Potassium iodide (trace element 3b E 2 Iodine) 0.2% (Iodine [I] 1345 mg/l) (Potassium [K] 415 mg/l)
Cobalt sulfate x 7 H₂O (trace element 3b E 3 cobalt) 0.1% (Cobalt (Co) 207 mg/l)
Pharmacological properties
Ketobalance is used to supplement the diet of high-yielding cows and sheep with easily digestible carbohydrates. The supplement is especially recommended during peak lactation, when the body's need for carbohydrates, which are necessary for the production of milk components, increases.
A lack of carbohydrates in animal feed, combined with a higher demand for these nutrients during lactation, can lead to metabolic disorders that result in the formation of ketone bodies. Ketobalance enhances the digestibility of structural fibers, lowers the risk of ketosis, improves feed intake in animals, normalizes disrupted lactation, and stabilizes the fat and protein content in milk.
Indication for use
To minimize the risk of ketosis, ensure proper ketosis management during times of increased energy demand, and promote higher feed intake and milk production.
Dosage
Cows: during the last 6 weeks before calving and between the 3rd and 6th week after calving at a dose of 250 ml once a day.
Sheep: 60–100 ml once a day during the first 3 weeks after calving.
Ketobalance should be mixed with water or feed. If the animal has a poor appetite and refuses to eat, the undiluted product may be administered directly orally. Please consult a veterinarian before use.
Contraindications
Do not use in animals with hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
