PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Florfenicol is derivative of tiamphenicol, in which hydroxil group is substituted by fluorine atom that induces its antibacterial activity against acetyltransferase synthesizing bacteria.

Florfenicol acts bacteriostatically on Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, such as:

Fusobacterium necrophorum, Bacteroides melaninogenicus, Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Pasteurеlla spp., Salmonella spp., Proteus spp., Pseudomonas spp., Haemophilus spp., as well as against Mycoplasma spp., Rickettsia spp., Chlamydia spp.

Florfenicol inhibits protein synthesis in bacterial cells..

FLOXY-SPRAY due to external application acts locally and practically does not penetrate into the circulatory system.

TARGET ANIMALS

Cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, rabbits, horses.

INDICATIONS

Cattle, sheep, goats, horses (sport horses), pigs, rabbits: treatment of animals with signs of purulent-necrotic, infectious lesions of the limbs and acute inflammatory processes in the umbilical cord area, for skin treatment after surgical interventions, as well as for traumatic skin injuries (wounds, cracks, scratches, combing, bites, bruises, ulcers), dermatitis of bacterial origin caused by microorganisms sensitive to fluorfenicol.

ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGES

Externally. Before applying the product, thoroughly clean the affected area of exudate and necrotic tissue.

Hold the shaken bottle 5-10 cm away from the damaged skin area and press the sprayer 1-2 times. Apply the product every 12 hours. The recommended course of treatment is 10 days. The drug should be used until the local inflammatory process stops and granulations form. If no therapeutic effect is achieved within 10 days, use of the drug should be discontinued and the treatment regimen reviewed.

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD

Meat – 0 days. In case of forced slaughter of the animal, the areas treated with the product must be removed.

SHELF LIFE

24 months.
