At the end of 2021, BioTestLab Ltd. entered the top five leading companies in terms of the number of vaccines for use in veterinary medicine, registered in Ukraine. It became possible to move up a notch after the registration and launch on the market of two new drugs for cattle: the vaccine for the prevention of mastitis in cows Bovimun Mast and the vaccine against neonatal diseases of calves Bovimun Neo, and new drug for poultry: Polimun IB VAR2. The total range of veterinary immunobiological products of the company today is 41 items.
Such data are given in the "List of veterinary immunobiological drugs registered in Ukraine", published by the State Food and Consumer Service. In total, as of December 2021, 397 vaccines for animals and poultry were officially presented in our country.
Yuriy Sobko, co-owner of BioTestLab Ltd.: “41 vaccines are the fifth place in the range of immunobiological drugs in Ukraine and a place in the TOP-20 in the world. And if you consider that in addition to standard commercial vaccines, we produce almost twenty autogenous vaccines, then we should be in the top ten. But accuracy isn't that important here. The main thing is that we prove that Ukraine has scientific potential and high biotechnology”.
BioTestLab is the most represented in the poultry vaccine segment: 23 products of the Polimun line. In second place in terms of quantity are vaccines for pigs (Suimun line – 9 drugs), in third – for rabbits (Lapimun line – 5), in fourth – for cattle (Bovimun line – 4).

Yuriy Sobko: “Our goal is to launch new products that are relevant both for Ukraine and abroad: BioTestLab products are trusted in more than 20 countries around the world. To do this, we are increasing investments in R&D, production facilities modernization, digitalization of processes. In parallel, we are working on the development and promotion of the line of drugs in the chemical-pharmaceutical group, in particular for the treatment of pets”.
As a reminder, BioTestLab has been developing and producing vaccines since its foundation in 1989. The first to enter the market were vaccines against Aujeszky's disease for fur-bearing animals, the marked vaccine against Aujeszky's disease of pigs (the first in the CIS countries), the vaccine against Teschen's disease of pigs, as well as against parvovirus disease, classical swine fever, and diagnostic test systems for the diagnosis of Aujeszky's disease.
In the early 2000s, the first domestic vaccine for poultry against Newcastle disease was developed from the La-Sota strain using SPF technology; the production of vaccines against pig erysipelas, against myxomatosis, and rabbit hemorrhagic disease has been mastered. In 2009, the development of a line of vaccines for poultry was completed, and their production was mastered (against Gumboro disease, Newcastle disease, EDS, infectious encephalomyelitis, and avian pox). Since 2009, the production of veterinary chemical-pharmaceutical drugs and disinfectants has begun.
In 2015, the company started producing autogenous vaccines. In the same year, the first batch of Polimun line vaccines for poultry was exported to Egypt.
BioTestLab Company currently sells over 2 billion doses of vaccines annually.
