Hepatoprotectors with an active ingredient ademetionine have proven themselves well in human medicine, and are also used in the treatment of dogs and cats. However, the dosage, inconvenient for veterinary practice, leads to the fact that a large amount of the prepared drug remains unused in the vial: ademetionine in the dissolved state is unstable and does not last for a long time.

A new product from BIOTESTLAB solves this problem — Hepax is available in dosage for animals weighing up to 10 kg, as well as for animals with a larger weight.

Ademetionine, or active methionine, is a derivative of the essential amino acid methionine. To date, a large number of results of clinical studies of ademetionine in liver pathologies have been accumulated, and performed in accordance with the principles of evidence-based medicine and good clinical practice in human and veterinary medicine.

The effectiveness and safety of ademetionine have been proven in intrahepatic cholestasis, which is the end result of many chronic diseases and pathological conditions of the liver (acute and chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis, etc.), in diseases of the gallbladder, and biliary tract. Effective as a concomitant therapy for infectious, invasive, and oncological diseases; as a stabilizing and supportive agent for the psychosomatic and psychological stress on the nervous system (stress, epilepsy, etc.).

Hepax contains the active substance ademetionine 1,4-butanedisulfonate. Solvent – L-lysine with excipients.

The drug is used intravenously, intramuscularly, or subcutaneously, once a day at a dose of 0.2-0.4 ml (corresponding to 10-20 mg of ademetionine cation) per 1 kg of animal body weight.

The duration of parenteral therapy is 5-10 days.

Hepax is registered in Ukraine. Registration certificate number — AB-09555-01-22.
