BIOTESTLAB and Confidence Pharmaceutical have signed an agreement to distribute POLIMUN poultry vaccines in Nigeria. This is an important step allowing the Ukrainian producer of veterinary drugs to enter one of the most promising markets in Africa. The first batch of products is scheduled for delivery in the third quarter of 2025.
The terms of cooperation were finalized during the visit of the delegation of the Nigerian distributor company to Ukraine and a visit to the BIOTESTLAB research-and-production complex.
"Our partners saw first-hand how we work and got acquainted with modern production technologies, a multi-level quality control system, and a range of vaccines that meet international requirements for efficiency and safety. Following the meeting, the terms of cooperation were agreed upon, and a corresponding agreement was reached," said Serhii Semenov, Sales Director of BIOTESTLAB LLC.
As he noted, product deliveries to Nigeria are planned to begin in the third quarter of 2025. This will be preceded by trademark registration and the first five vaccines of the POLIMUN line, too — to prevent Gumboro disease, Newcastle disease, Avian infectious bronchitis, Salmonellosis, and Egg drop syndrome.
Nigeria is Africa's largest country by population and has one of the continent's most dynamic economies. According to The Poultry Association of Nigeria (PAN), Nigeria produces 450,000 tonnes of chicken products and nearly 16 billion eggs annually. The chicken population is 180 million. In this indicator, Nigeria ranks second in Africa after Egypt.
Serhii Semenov: “We continue to expand our export potential. Today, we export products to 21 countries and are negotiating with potential partners in more than 30 countries. In addition to the traditional export of Ukrainian veterinary drugs to the Middle East, countries of Central and Southeast Asia, our focus is also on countries in Africa and Latin America”.
