POLIMUN IB H120
Vaccine against infectious bronchitis in chickens, live lyophilized
Composition
One dose of the vaccine contains the chicken infectious bronchitis virus strain “H-120”, produced in chicken embryos, at a concentration of ≥ 3.5 log EID50 .
Dosage form
Lyophilisate.
Immunobiological properties
In poultry, the vaccine virus stimulates the development of specific immunity within 7–10 days and protects vaccinated chicks from the disease for 6–7 weeks.
Poultry species
Chickens.
Indications for use
Prevention of infectious bronchitis in chickens from day-old age.
Method of administration and dosage
The number of vaccine doses per vial is indicated on the label.
Vaccinate birds from 1 day of age in incubators or in poultry houses on healthy farms using one of the following methods: intraocularly, by spray, or by oral administration.
Note! For the prevention of infectious bronchitis in chickens, the intraocular and spray methods are considered the most effective.
Pre-vaccination guidelines:
Use clean, serviceable equipment that is free of disinfectant residues.
The water temperature should be 10–20 °C.
The water used to dissolve the vaccine must not contain chlorine or iron ions, as well as antibiotics or disinfectants.
For a higher-quality vaccination, it is recommended to use the “INDIGO” indicator-stabilizer or other products of comparable quality.
Dissolve the vaccine by adding 5–8 mL of chilled clean drinking water or boiled water to the vaccine vial and shaking thoroughly until the lyophilisate is completely dissolved.
Use the resulting solution to prepare working solutions for each of the following methods of administration.
Intraocular method
The intraocular method is used for chicks from one day of age. The lyophilized vaccine is dissolved at a ratio of 1,000 vaccine doses per 30–50 mL of water (the exact amount of water depends on the type of dropper used).
Hold the bird in one hand and place it under the dropper so that a single drop enters the eye. The effectiveness of the vaccine administration is confirmed by the conjunctiva turning blue.
Spray Method
An automatic sprayer or a manually operated sprayer is used to spray the vaccine. When using a manually operated sprayer, it is important to apply the vaccine to the birds twice.
Calibrate the automatic sprayer (or manually operated sprayer) to spray droplets of the appropriate size. Before vaccination, check the droplet size and the uniformity of solution application by spraying it onto any contrasting surface.
The number of doses is selected based on the number of birds to be vaccinated. Pour the vaccine solution into the sprayer’s reservoir and mix gently.
Replenish the vaccine solution every 1.5–2 hours. Monitor the operation of the nozzle and the water temperature (10–20°C). Spray from a height of approximately 40 cm above the birds’ heads. The birds should be completely wetted as a result of spraying.
Vaccination using the coarse-droplet method:
Chicks are vaccinated starting at one day of age. For every 1,000 doses, 200–300 ml of water is required. Droplet size: 150–250 µ. After spraying, keep the birds for 15–20 minutes in a closed, well-heated room away from drafts until completely dry.
Vaccination using the fine-drop method:
Chicks are vaccinated no earlier than 12 days of age. For every 1,000 doses, 400–500 ml of water is required.
Droplet size: 100–150 µ. Gather the birds on one side of the poultry house, turn off the ventilation and heating, and turn on the lights. Spray the vaccine.
Turn on the ventilation 10–20 minutes after the spraying process is complete.
Vaccination Check
Check the quality of vaccination by looking for blue dye on the birds’ feathers; to ensure the birds are fully wetted, run your hand over them.
Drinking Method
One day before administering the vaccine, determine the volume of water (in liters) that the birds drink over 1–1.5 hours. Vaccination should preferably be carried out in the morning.
On the day of vaccination, dilute the vaccine so that the pre-determined volume of drinking water contains one dose of vaccine per bird. Stop the water supply 1–3 hours before vaccination.
Withdrawal period (waiting period)
Zero days.
Shelf life
18 months.
Storage and transportation conditions
Store at a temperature between 2° and 8°C in a dry, dark place out of the reach of children.
