Poultry Conference Egypt 2021

The Poultry Conference Egypt 2021 took place in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, on September 19-23. The international event was organized by BioTestLab in cooperation with the official distributor EgyVac and with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in Egypt. More than 150 representatives of poultry farms took part in the event.

The event began with the opening ceremony and presentations of the organizing companies of the conference, which were held by BioTestLab General Director Olena Saliy, Business Development Director Andriy Sobko, EgyVac Founder and Director Ali Hendawy, and Leading Technical Specialist Dr. Basem Ahmed.

The conference was attended by Ruslan Nechay, Counselor of the Ukrainian Embassy in Egypt, who welcomed the intention of Ukrainian manufacturers to expand their presence on the market of veterinary drugs in Egypt and the region. The Ukrainian diplomat noted the full support of the Embassy for the efforts of Ukrainian exporters, especially when it comes to high-tech products with a high level of added value.

In 2015 Egypt became the first importing country for the company, and remains a key market. Today in this Arab country, BioTestLab products are presented by vaccines for birds of the Polimun line, as well as for rabbits of the Lapimun line – a total of 20 vaccines.

Introducing the company, Andriy Sobko outlined the formula for cooperation with partners: quality = result, which ensures the achievement of great results both in Ukraine and in international markets.

In turn, Olena Saliy focused on investments in R&D, on the renewal and expansion of production, digitalization of processes. Today BioTestLab is one of the leaders in the Ukrainian market of veterinary drugs. The range includes 121 drugs, 40 of which are commercial vaccines for animals and poultry.

The company is certified by the world leader, the accreditation agency DQS (Germany), for compliance with the international standard ISO 9001:2015, production processes comply with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) requirements. The company cooperates only with leading manufacturers of active substances and SPF embryos. Products are presented in more than 20 countries around the world.

The conference included presentations and discussions in two sections. The first dealt with infectious bronchitis of chickens, the second was about the infectious bursal disease (Gumboro disease). Researchers in the field of poultry diseases and virology of the BioTestLab company, together with Ukrainian and Egyptian colleagues, shared the best practices for the prevention of these dangerous poultry diseases, implemented in the vaccines Polimun IB Multi and Polimun IBD+.

Valeria Kilimenko, Head of the Veterinary Drugs Introduction Department of BioTestLab, emphasized that the vaccine Polimun IB Multi was developed for effective cross-protection against various viruses of infectious bronchitis in chickens. This is achieved by using two live attenuated strains from different IB serotypes, such as the types 793/B and Massachusetts.

The vaccine Polimun IBD+ belongs to the Polimun Gumboro line of vaccines and contains a breakthrough titer of 1000 mAb. This, combined with the rapid colonization of the bursa and high homology with the high virulent Gumboro disease virus, provides early protection against gene group 3 isolates (vvIBDV), which are among the most abundant in the world.

Summing up the results of the conference, Mr. Mustafa Bastami, Professor of the Department of Poultry Diseases of Cairo University, noted that the event became a platform for dialogue between experts and business representatives, highly appreciated the potential of Ukrainian scientists and vaccine manufacturers, stressing the importance of further mutually beneficial cooperation.
