Pharmacological properties

Pharmadox is a complex drug formulation, which is composed of Doxycycline and Tylosin. Doxycycline is a semi-synthetic antibiotic of the tetracyclines group, acting on the ribosome of bacteria, inhibiting protein synthesis. Doxycycline has a broad spectrum of antimicrobial action against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria (Staphylococcusspp., Diplococcus pneumoniaе, Streptococcus spp., Haemophilus influenzaе, E. coli,Pneumococci, Bacillus anthracis, Clostridium tetani, Clostridium perfringens, Listeriamonocytogenes, Actinomyces spp., Enterobacter spp., Klebsiella spp., Salmonella spp.,Shigella spp., Yersinia spp.), as well as against Mycoplasmas (Mycoplasma spp.), Rickettsiaspp. and Chlamydia. Doxycycline after oral administration is well absorbed in the digestive tract, reaching peak serum concentration in 2 h. Doxycycline penetrates well into the lungs, and therefore is effective during the treatment of respiratory infections. Tylosin is a member of the macrolide group of antibiotics, is active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria like Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Diplococcusspp., Corynebacterium spp., Clostridium spp., Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Neisseria spp.,

Bacteroides nodosus, Moraxella bovis, Pasteurella spp., Spirochetаspp. Mycoplasmas are especially susceptible to Tylosin (Mycoplasma gallisepticum, Mycoplasmahyopneumoniae, Mycoplasma synoviae, Mycoplasma meleagridis, Mycoplasmaagalactiae, Mycoplasma bovigenitalium), as well as Chlamydia and Rickettsia spp.Tylosin after oral administration is well absorbed, penetrates all inner organs and is maintained at a therapeutic level in the blood of animals and birds for 6-8 h. Bioavailability of tylosin does not change under the influence of food. Tylosin is excretedin the urine, bile and feces.
